A tall articulated reading lamp built from polished aluminium sections joined by pivots and held under tension by fine steel cables, so the arm stays where you set it without a knob or clamp. A short counterweight arm at the top balances the head, and the whole thing stands on a stepped ribbed disc base heavy enough to stay upright with the arm swung right out over a sofa or desk. The tapered drum shade is fabric and throws a warm pool of light downward.
