Sand-Art Hourglass Desk Ornament

A sand-art ornament built as a sealed glass disc held upright in a moulded stand. Turning the disc over drops fine coloured sand through a liquid so it settles into a new range of peaks and layers each time, taking a few minutes to finish falling. The frame is a full circle with a flat plinth foot, so it stands unaided on a desk, shelf or sideboard, and the piece is roughly 19 cm tall in the larger size.
