A flat rectangular speaker wrapped in a powder-coated steel grille, with a soft silicone bumper around the edge and a fabric utility loop at one corner for hanging it from a rucksack, a rail or a hook. It is small enough to hold in one hand and drops into a bag without taking much room. The housing is rated waterproof and dustproof, so it takes rain, sand and a poolside soaking, and it floats if dropped in water. Positioning technology detects how the speaker is sitting and re-tunes the output for that orientation.
