Privacy Policy
G+ Market is a marketplace for browsing, buying, selling, delivery coordination, merchant support, and customer support. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details such as name, email address, optional phone number, sign-in provider, profile photo, and guest session identifiers.
- Marketplace activity such as viewed products, saved items, cart activity, orders, seller messages, support requests, reviews, and merchant application details.
- Delivery and fulfilment details such as delivery name, contact number, manual address, map-selected address, coordinates, order notes, and rider coordination status when you request delivery help.
- Payment records such as order totals, payment references, checkout status, refunds, and merchant payout records. Card or Mobile Money authorization is handled by payment providers such as Hubtel, and we do not store your full payment credentials.
- Device and diagnostics data such as app version, device type, crash logs, notification tokens, security logs, and approximate usage data needed to keep the service reliable.
How we use information
- To let shoppers browse as guests, create accounts, save products, place orders, receive support, and follow delivery progress.
- To help merchants list products, confirm availability, manage orders, receive staff messages, and receive approved payouts.
- To send service notifications by push notification, SMS, email, or in-app message, including order acceptance, delivery-cost readiness, rider pickup, rider arrival, support updates, account security, and merchant order alerts.
- To process payments on the web, confirm successful payment in the app, prevent fraud, investigate disputes, and keep accounting records.
- To improve marketplace ranking, search, product recommendations, support quality, app performance, and safety.
Instagram and Meta platform data
G+ Market offers an optional "Import from Instagram" tool for merchants. If a merchant chooses to connect their own Instagram Business or Creator account (through Instagram's official Business Login), we access that connected account's own content only, using Instagram's official API, to help the merchant create product listings on G+ Market.
- We request read-only access to the connected account's own media (the
instagram_business_basicpermission): post captions, media (image/thumbnail) links, permalinks, and basic account details such as username and media count. - We use this data solely to pre-fill draft product listings that the merchant reviews, edits, and chooses whether to publish. We do not post, comment, message, or take any action on the merchant's Instagram account, and we never access any other person's Instagram data.
- Imported images the merchant publishes are copied to our secure storage so the listing keeps working if the original post changes. Captions are used only to suggest a title, price, and category for the merchant's own listing.
- The connection is optional and revocable. A merchant can disconnect Instagram at any time in the G+ Market Seller Centre, which deletes the stored access token; they may also revoke access from their Instagram or Meta account settings. We store the access token securely and do not share it.
Location
Location is used only when you allow it or manually enter an address. We use it to help you choose accurate pickup or delivery points, show nearby listings, estimate delivery routes, and support order fulfilment. You can turn off location access in your device settings and continue using manual address entry.
Sharing and service providers
We share information only as needed to operate G+ Market. This can include Firebase for authentication, database, storage, analytics, crash reporting and notifications; Google Maps for address search and map selection; Hubtel for payment and transfer processing; SMS and push-notification providers; delivery partners such as Yango when delivery is requested; and merchants or support staff involved in your order.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect customers, merchants, staff, and the marketplace.
Your choices
- You can browse G+ Market as a guest without creating an account.
- A phone number is optional during sign-up, though some order, delivery, support, or security flows may ask for a contact number later.
- You can manage notification permissions in the app and in your device settings.
- You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account and marketplace data.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the marketplace, comply with tax, accounting, legal, safety, dispute, and fraud-prevention obligations, and then delete or anonymize it when no longer needed. We use access controls, audit logs, Firebase security rules, role-based staff access, and provider security tools to protect information.
